Heron Bay Hoodlums

HBH — born on the working water in Heron Bay, Alabama. Still standing.

The story

The Heron Bay Hoodlums started the way the best things on the coast start — young. Carl Peters and a couple of his cousins started the clique as young boys in Heron Bay, Alabama, a fishing community where the boats go out before the sun and a man's word is his bond. Their mama used to shoo them out of the house — "Y'all get out of here, you hooligans" — and the name stuck. That was some forty years ago, and it has held ever since.

HBH was never about trouble. It is about a place — the bay, the docks, the best fishermen on the coast — and folks who never forgot where they came from. People down in Heron Bay are proud to be from Heron Bay. This line carries that pride.

The line itself is James Bosarge's doing: his idea to bring HBH to nautical and coastal gear online, built under Still Standing — his brand, his fisherman cross, his business. Credit where it's due, on both sides: the clique is Carl and his cousins'; the business is James's.

The tribute wear line

The HBH tribute line is built the Still Standing way: the big emblem on the back, the small emblem on the front over the heart, in bold colors — not just the brand blues.

Bobby is carrying this line hand to hand to everybody they know. If you grew up on this water, you already know.

The song

"Saltwater Kin 4am Tide" is the HBH anthem — the 4 AM tide, the kin who work it, and the ones who didn't come home the same. Find it in the store with the rest of the catalog.

Straight talk: Still Standing is not yet a registered 501(c)(3), so support is not tax-deductible. It's seed sown into the work itself — the help line, the music, and the doors staying open. Nonprofit formation is in the works, and when it stands, this page will say so plainly.
